One Quote: by Maya Angelou
"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."
- Maya Angelou
My mission in life: help people heal so they can get out of survival mode and start living more with an open heart. Heroes live with open hearts. Storytelling is my weapon of choice.
Magic happens when you live with an open heart and a clear mission.
One post: Don’t Play The Blame Game - Rabbi YY Jacobson
Taking responsibility can be as simple as going for a run when feeling stressed. You showed up for yourself. The moment you stop blaming the outside world for your problems. And realize there is something small you can do to change today. Everything changes.
One song: On The Bowery - Jeryko
Not going to lie. I have been obsessed with this song the entire week. If you saw someone dancing and blasting this song in a car going south on Collins Ave.
It was probably me.
One podcast: 7 Things Confident People Do Differently- On Purpose with Jay Shetty
Say yes to what you value. Say no to what you don’t value.
Rinse and repeat. You will become more confident.
Bonus- One personal insight: It took Dr. Edith Eger decades to forgive herself for surviving the holocaust - what you can do to forgive yourself and move on from unconscious guilt that is holding you back from a magnificent life
Why are you alive?
Many ask this question.
What is the purpose of staying alive? Not so many people ask this question.
One of the few people who did ask this was Dr Edith Eger.
Edith Eger saw millions perish during the Holocaust.
And stayed to live another day.
Why did they leave? Why did she stay?
It's a painful question she asked herself. That filled her with unconscious guilt.
The kind that makes you feel unworthy.
Of basic things like breathing air. And living another day.
It's a mental prison.
It took her decades to forgive herself for surviving.
All of us have some sort of unconscious guilt. That is holding us back from the life we truly want to live.
We feel we need to blame ourselves for the problems of others to feel responsible. But this worry is just garbage. Baggage you can release at any time.
The first step to releasing it is to accept you have it. It is worthless for you to keep it. Live the life you want to live on your terms. Forgive yourself you are still here. You are free to do so. But do it with love. Not with guilt. What happened to the other person. Is not something you can control. Focus on what you can control. Enjoying life is one of them. Using your gifts to be of service to others is a great one. Building a legacy is another.
All that great life is a thought away.
But you are responsible for releasing that unconscious guilt.
That does it for Episode 3 of The King David II Media. If you enjoyed this, I’d love for you to share it with your friends!
